The Story Behind "A Tribute to Bing Crosby Show"

After graduating high school in Lansing, MI, Bob enlisted in the Army. While stationed in Korea, Bob listened to the Armed Forces Radio Network. This was where he first became interested in Bing Crosby and was first told that he sounded like the great master.

In 1979 Bob traveled to Tacoma, WA, "Bing's" birthplace, for the first meeting of the Bing Crosby Historical Society. He was privileged to meet Al Rinker, a member of Paul Whiteman's Rhythm Boys who sang with "Bing". The following year Bob was invited back as a special guest to sing a "Tribute to Bing Crosby" on the program.

Bob is an avid Bing Crosby collector. Today his world class collection contains hundreds of unique items including Bing’s first recording, an ice cream container featuring Bing’s picture, and an original lobby poster and hat from the movie White Christmas. His most treasured items are personal items presented to him by Crosby Family members.

Bob continues to build his collection which has been featured in several newspaper articles and television newscasts along with his unique career. Through his collection, Bob has studied Bing’s career, his mannerisms, and his approach to a song becoming an expert on Bing’s life and career which is incorporated in his show presentation.

Bob's many performances include theater stage shows, ballrooms, dinner theaters, and a variety of special event functions. Christmas 2006 was spent on tour in Australia where Bob performed at the Crown Plaza Casino, Melbourne, opening for their Christmas Spectacular followed by several performances in their Palm Showroom.

Among his many memorable performances was an appearance as a featured performer in May 2003 at Bing's 100th Birthday celebration. This international event was held at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and was followed by performing on several occasions over the next two years with Kathryn Crosby, Bing's widow, in special tribute shows to her late husband. Another highlight in his career was singing "White Christmas" at Soldier's Field in Chicago, Illinois, at the half-time show for the Chicago Bear's play-off game in 1994 in front of a sell-out crowd of 68,000.

Bob Pasch, as Bing Crosby, and Lynn Roberts, as Bob Hope, were honored to receive the Cloney Award presented by IGCITA for The Outstanding Tribute Act for 2006. This was followed by another prestigious award, The Classic Crooner presented to Bob Pasch at the 16 th Annual Reel Awards in Las Vegas May 2007. Bob is extremely honored to have received both of these awards as they are presented to tribute artists and impersonators that stand out as the best in the industry.

Bob’s show is endorsed by both Kathryn Crosby and all the major Bing Crosby Fan Clubs including Bing’s original fan club, “Club Crosby,” which was founded in 1936. Club Crosby is the oldest fan club in existence for a single artist and appears in the Guinness World Book of Records.

Bob Pasch and his wife, Lenora, had the opportunity to meet Bing's close friends, Rosemary Clooney and life-long friend, Bob Hope. They also visited at length with Maxine Andrews of the Andrews Sisters who recorded several recordings with Bing including his first gold record. (see sale items in store)

Bob Pasch says, "My greatest pleasure is helping to keep Bing's music alive and bringing back memories for those old enough to remember Bing's career and introducing his music to those that are too young to remember." He considers it an honor to present a tribute show to this outstanding entertainer of the 20th Century.
