Christmas Show Tour In Australian
November - December 2006 |
Bob performed a series of shows at the world famous Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. The tour began with Bob opening the Christmas Spectacular Event held in the main entrance of the Crown Casino and Hotel. He was followed by Human Nature a group having the number one album in Australia and a spectacular automated show including a merry-go-round, automated dancers and reindeer, and of course Santa who arrived in a sleigh pulled not by a team of reindeer but by a team of beautiful white dogs all decked out for Christmas.
Bob performed a series of shows to enthusiastic crowds in the Crown's beautiful Palm Showroom. Bob was accompanied by the Alligator Jazz Band, an outstanding Australian band conducted by Jordan Murray. Also appearing on the show was a very talented Australian jazz singer, Yvette Johnnson, who joined Bob for some duets, as well as, doing some jazz solo numbers. The showroom was beautifully decorated in blue and gold (Bing Crosby's theme song colors) giving the show a wonderful setting. This combined with excellent lighting, staging, and sound added to the overall success of the shows.
While in Australia, Bob was invited to attend the December Club Crosby Meeting as a guest speaker. This was a wonderful opportunity to meet approximately 60 Club Crosby Australian members, which was a special bonus for both Bob and his wife, Lenora.
